C. Martin Company, Inc. was founded on October 16, 1972 in Ridgecrest, California, in the high desert near Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. The work was federal from the first day: facilities, ranges, and housing. Around the turn of the century the company moved its headquarters to North Las Vegas, Nevada, next to Nellis AFB and the Nevada Test and Training Range, while keeping its California licensing and Ridgecrest operating heritage.

1970s-1980s
Range, housing, and desert-installation foundation
CMC develops the trades and program-management discipline that still define the firm: range operations and maintenance, target work, military family housing, grounds, and facility systems. California contractor licenses in general building and related trades support that field work, with performance across military family housing and range environments in the West.
1990s
Broader federal footprint
The company adds multi-site housing and facilities work, including military family housing maintenance at installations such as Vandenberg AFB and Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, range operations support, and federal land management facility maintenance, repair, construction, and restoration in the California desert region. By the end of the decade CMC is a recognized small-business performer in facilities support services (NAICS 561210).
1999-2001
Headquarters moves to North Las Vegas
CMC relocates its headquarters from Ridgecrest to North Las Vegas, Nevada, next to Nellis AFB, the Nevada Test and Training Range, and the growing southern Nevada federal market, while retaining California licensing and a Ridgecrest operating heritage. Federal SAM registration follows on November 16, 2001 under CAGE 44634.
2002-2017
Nellis / NTTR Range Support Services
CMC performs Range Support Services under contract F42650-02-C-7010 from October 1, 2002 through October 1, 2017. Performance on the Nellis / Nevada Test and Training Range complex, including the Indian Springs Air Force Auxiliary Field later designated Creech AFB, is delivered under Range Support Services (RSS). Scope covers range operations and maintenance, target construction and maintenance, facilities support, and the people and equipment needed to keep a live training range mission-ready.
2003-2011
White Sands Missile Range housing
CMC performs military family housing maintenance at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico under contract DABK39-03-C-0116, extending the company's housing-maintenance reputation from California and Nevada into Army test-range communities.
2005
National disaster-housing capability
CMC applies its manufactured-housing install, maintain, and deactivate skills to federal emergency housing missions, building the playbook later used on large FEMA temporary-housing programs.
2006-2017
Multi-service installation portfolio
Performance continues across Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force sites: White Sands facilities and housing support, Dugway Proving Ground industrial-facility operations and maintenance, military family housing and change-of-occupancy work, USACE and Navy facilities task orders, range and training-area support, and laboratory and clinic facility systems.
2018
Wright-Patterson AFB civil engineering support
CMC becomes a sustained Air Force civil-engineering partner at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, providing facility and equipment support for the 88th Air Base Wing, the 711th Human Performance Wing, the Air Force Petroleum Laboratory, Air Force Research Laboratory activities, and the National Air and Space Intelligence Center.
2021
Federal laboratory operations
CMC performs operations and maintenance at EPA Region 10's Manchester Laboratory in Port Orchard, Washington, a multi-building campus on approximately 17.5 acres, under a service-disabled veteran-owned set-aside.
2024-2028
FEMA Maui ATTHU maintenance
CMC is awarded a single-award FEMA IDIQ for maintenance of Alternative Transportable Temporary Housing Units on the island of Maui in support of the Lahaina and Maui wildfire recovery (DR-4724-HI). Performance continues through May 14, 2028. Work includes emergency and preventive maintenance, group-site and alternative-site maintenance, and removal, disposal, and deactivation of units.
2026
Continuing Air Force partnership
CMC remains on contract at Wright-Patterson for civil-engineering facility and equipment support under a firm-fixed-price IDIQ with performance through January 31, 2031, with task orders covering HVAC, boilers, chillers, fire-alarm systems, and laboratory infrastructure. The company continues to operate from North Las Vegas as a WOSB, SDVOSB, and VOSB prime.

53 years after Ridgecrest, C. Martin Company remains a family-led Nevada contractor supporting the nation's installations, ranges, laboratories, and disaster-housing sites. The through-line is unchanged: show up, maintain the asset, protect the mission, and leave the site better than we found it.
